What services to you provide?

Furring & Purr Associates provides dog walking and cat sitting services and will take boarding clients (dogs only). Because I have my own resident pets, boarding clients must submit to an in-person temperament assessment in my home to determine whether boarding is a good fit. 


What services don't you provide?

Furring & Purr Associates is currently unable to provide live-in away care for clients when they are out of town. 


What is included in a standard dog walk?

Dog walks are a full 20 minutes door-to-door. That 20 minutes doesn't start until we have left the premises. All pre and post walk duties (i.e. getting coats on, drying-off after rain, refilling water) are supplemental to the walk time.  This is to insure that your pet is getting a consistent 20 minute walk every time and that our clients are getting their money's worth. 

In addition, Furring & Purr Staff will:

  • Refill water 
  • Administer post-walk treats
  • Leave a detailed walking note (text is also available by request)
  • Provide any necessary post-walk clean-up of your pet


What isn't included in a standard dog walk?

​Feeding and medication are not included in the standard dog walk and are subject to additional fees. 


What supplies do clients need to provide?

For Dog Ealks:

  • Leash and a collar with current ID and vaccination tags
  • Poop bags
  • 2 Sets of keys (preferred but not mandatory)
  • A Towel and any other pet cleaning supplies you use
  • Cold and wet weather gear (if you have them)


For Dog Boarding:

  • Leash and a collar with current ID and vaccination tags
  • Food for the duration of the stay
  • Medications (if needed) 
  • Bedding, toys, treats 

​Furring & Purr Associates will provide crates, poop-bags, food bowls, towels and cleaning supplies.


​For Cat Care:

  • Food (enough to cover your time away)
  • Litter & litter box
  • 2 Sets of keys (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Medication(s) (if needed
  • Poop bags


What is your cancellation policy?

Our cancellation policy differs depending on the type of service. No fee will be charged for cancellations due to severe weather, life threatening emergencies, or a death in the family.

 

  • For Dog Walks:​ As long as a client’s cancellation request is received and confirmed before the walker is en route to the visit, there will be no charge. Cancellation may be done via text, email or phone call. Clients will be responsible for the full service fee for cancellations after the walker is en route. 


  • For Dog Boarding:​  Please give F&P at least 24 hours notice for service cancellations.  Cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled pet care will result in a $20 penalty fee.


  • ​For Cat Care: Please give F&P at least 24 hours notice for service cancellations.  Cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled pet care will result in a $20 penalty fee.


  • Holiday Service Cancellation: ​Any service cancellations prior to a major holiday; (Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day, Easter, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day and Thanksgiving) with less than a four day notice will result in 50% of the total invoice for scheduled pet care to be paid. We request your understanding that holiday travel is a peak service time for pet care.


What forms of payment do you take?

We accept payment in cash or check. If you are a PNC customer PopMoney is also acceptable. 


What is your service area?

  • Dog walks: F&P Associates provides walks as far south as Addison, as far east as Ashland, as far west as California and as far north as Foster Ave. 


  • Cat visits: F&P Associates provides cat care as far south as Belmont, as far east as Broadway, as far west as Kimball and as far north as Peterson Ave.

Please include information about the type of service (dog walk, cat care, boarding), dates of service needed, address, and basic pet info. A Furring & Purr Associate will get back to you within 24 hours to set up a free introductory meeting.
